Bitflow Frame Grabbers

Digital Image Capture Card

  • Road Runner:  It is designed expressly to support modern, high-speed, multi-tap digital cameras. At its heart are a sophisticated scatter/gather DMA engine and a unique camera control unit.  The DMA engine places pixels directly into the applications memory with minimal host CPU intervention.  The Road Runner accepts interleaved, segmented, alternating, or scan-reversed inputs from multi-tap cameras and transfers them to host and/or display in convenient raster-scan order.  The Road Runner supports not only high-performance area-scan acquisition, but also loss-free line-scan acquisition for both continuous-web and discrete-item applications.  It also accepts digital input w/ out frame or line synchronization at clocks from zero to 40 MHz.

  • Karbon-CL:   The world's first four-camera PCI Express frame grabber, the Karbon-CL, can acquire simultaneously from up to four Base CL cameras or two Full CL cameras (including 10-tap CL). Further, it is also built on top of BitFlow's FlowThru technology, which provides zero latency access to data, super low CPU usage, and unlimited DMA destination size. The Karbon-CL is the first member of BitFlow's Karbon family, which will provide a platform that can host an wide variety of virtual frame grabbers. These virtual frame grabbers can be customized to meet an OEM's specific needs.

  • R64-CL: The R64-CL Camera Link camera interface product takes high-speed imaging to the next level by offering a solution for the 64-bit/66Mhz PCI bus.  Featuring an enhanced version of the time-tested and proven FlowThru architecture that Bitflow pioneered nearly 6 years ago, the R64-CL product line follows the tradition of its predecessors by supporting image acquisition at today’s camera speeds with zero latency or CPU usage.  Combining the built-in flexibility to support hundreds of off the shelf and proprietary cameras with the simplicity of a Camera Link interface, the R64-CL offers the best camera interface solution for the most demanding OEM, system integrator or end-user applications.

  • Road Runner CL: The Road Runner CL features a Base Camera Link configuration (single-channel 8 to 16-bit, dual-channel 8 to 12-bit or 24-bit RGB.), on-the-fly image reformatting for dual-channel (odd/even line) cameras, multiple trigger modes, user-programmable camera controls, trigger and encoder inputs, user-programmable general purpose output signals.

Analog Capture Cards

  • Raven:  The Raven combines flexible multi-camera capabilities w/ proven system interface technology. A single Raven board can accept up to four simultaneous camera inputs. And for application flexibility, the Raven works w/ all analog cameras not only standard-scan RS170/CCIR monochrome as well as NTSC/PAL, S-video (Y/C), and high-quality RGB color cameras, but also non-standard types such as line-scanners, progressive-scan, and high-performance dual-tap cameras.
